Drop down menu detail

Hi,

How do I make the Main Menu item drop-down with the sub-categories on the left like this one?

Menu

My other main-menu items just show the latest posts but not that left-hand side bit.

Ah ha.. Found it.

I had done everything right BUT there were no actual posts under the sub-categories so it wouldn’t show the sub-category link.
