Dropcap color

I changed the dropcap background color to match my themes using the recommended coding I found on this forum.
.td-post-content .dropcap{
background-color: limegreen;
color:white;
}

The background of the box/circle matches the theme perfectly! However, on the themes with a white background, the Bold Dropcap is now invisible (white). Could you possibly tell me how I can change the color of the bold dropcap and retain the correct background color for the Box dropcap? I changed the font color to black for now so that the Bold Dropcap letters show up.
