Hi,
Every time I upload a picture, the theme automatically duplicates the uploaded image into 6-10 images.
I’ve searched the forum and found out that the theme needs to duplicate images to fit in many different blocks and modules.
But this duplication is quickly eating up all my hosting space. For example my original image was 100kb in size, but the 10 duplicated images would total up to 400kb, or even more!

Is there any way to fix this? Can I remove unused thumbnails? If so where can I customize the code?

Besides the thumbs WordPress creates when you upload an image as you’ve found out the theme create other which are used on module/blocks/slides..
If you decide that you don’t use a specific block/module and you don’t need that thumb then you can comment the image size function which creates the specific thumb.

Oh one more thing – right now the theme automatically creates thumbnails for all uploaded images.
I have a lot of images in each of my posts. I want the theme to generate thumbnails for featured images only, as they will appear on the Homepage blocks and sliders. The rest of the images in posts don’t need to be duplicated.
Is there a way to customize this?

I’m not sure how you could do that as the thumbs are created when you upload a new image and to detect the use of the image as featured image and only then create the thumbs needs another approach and I suggest you try to find a plugin for that, if there is one that dose something like that. Sorry!
