But… How do I edit the author page? I have multiple contributors and I want to edit their author page so that they have their separate sidebars etc. In other words….:
1. How do I edit the author page?
2. If that doesn’t work: How do I make author images (in a post, in a sidebar etc) link to pages of my choosing?

go to Theme panel -> Tempalte settings -> Author display view. there you choose on what side the sidebar will be , create a custom sidebar.
after you create your custom sidebar go to Appearance -> Widgets , find your sidebar there and drag the widgets that you want on the sidebar.

The theme doesn’t support custom sidebar for each author, only if you implement something in author.php file where is the sidebar, you have to put a condition for each author to get a custom sidebar.
That link is something from internal WP, you can’t change it, i presume that you want to make custom pages for each author and link it from the picture.
Yes, ideally, the author image would link to a custom page. There must be an easy way to redirect/fix this…?

}Change the ID for each author and page you want to redirect. In my case author with ID 1 will go to contact page, write there the slug of the page you want to redirect.

Adding this code in functions.php:

I also need to implement each author image to link to their own custom author page.
I’ve added the code to the functions.php page as directed. Could please provide more detail on this part… “Change the ID for each author and page you want to redirect. In my case author with ID 1 will go to contact page, write there the slug of the page you want to redirect.”
I would really appreciate adding this functionality. In order to use this theme I have to be ability to have each author’s page include a few different/additional elements.

@caltex use the above function, is exactly what you need. There are some conditions that you can put it for each author, if author 1 go to that page and the home_url is the page slug.
Add that code in function.php file.

We can’t add this only for 1 users, if more people require this we will thing about it :), Each one have a request, think what will happen if we include all featured requested, will be a mess. What is good for you, can not be so good for others.

Where can do I find out what an author’s ID number is? I can’t seem to find it?
Thank you I really appreciate your help. I found out how to locate the author ID numbers. And was able to redirect the author to their new page. Now I just one last important element… How can I have the author’s past posts display on the new page?

I have been able to add the author’s posts to the authors new custom page. I just have 2, hopefully small issues, that I would love to solve.

User Setting: To select the author’s posts in Block 6 in VC, using the Author’s filter, I only had access to “Lenny da Vinci’s” ID after changing his role from Author to Administrator: links below
