When I am logged in as an admin to my site, on the home page a very handy “edit” button show ups on the upper right corner of images, as shown in the attached screenshot. However, when I am in a single post, the “edit” button no longer shows up.
This could be a WordPress or browser issue? Another one of my admins says she sees it all the time.

That comes from the wordpress but you should be able to use it since other users see it. You could try another browser.
