I’m trying to edit the icons in the menu bar (ico-categ.png, ico-home.png ect). I’ve located and edited the files, but I still see the old icons on the site (currently running as a local test version on my own computer).

Hi,
That icon are in sprite file. The sprite file are located in theme folder in \images\sprite
elements.png and elements@2x.png for retina display.
