Hey guys, so I’m aware of all the ways we can customize the default post templates via theme settings:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/design-post-pages-using-default-templates/
But what I’m wondering is, can we change the templates in other ways? Like for example if I wanted to move where the author information shows up? Add additional stuff not in the templates now?
Also, I downloaded a single post template from the Cloud Library. The template looks fine in the Cloud Library file, and has two columns. When assigned to an article, only the main column shows up (stretched to cover the whole width of the post). And if I assign a Sidebar, that too doesn’t show up. This only happens when choosing the added Cloud Library template, but all default templates the Sidebar shows up correctly.
Any thoughts on these two issues? Thanks.
Also I’ll add to this… posts set to the downloaded custom Cloud Library single post template also don’t seem to pay attention to the global settings. So for example, if I set the posts to NOT show the number of comments (which is says in the control panel will affect both default AND custom templates) this works for all default templates but the meta info I turned off still shows up in the custom templates.
And one more piece of weirdness. I downloaded a second single post template to see if maybe there was a problem with the first. Same thing, the second column content doesn’t show up. BUT here’s the weird part… if I scroll down, then start to scroll back up, elements from the missing second column pop up in the middle of the screen over the first column … only while scrolling up. So like the ad spot, some of the social counters, all in the template for the missing second column, show up on the way back up in the middle of the main column content. Weird.
And sorry to keep piling on here, but if I turn off “sticky” for the column the weird scroll up effect stops… and the second column content shows up BELOW the first column content… as it it’s all one big wide column. (and still no sidebar, whether turned on, off, set to a custom sidebar… nothing shows only for these custom templates)
Hello !
We have 2 types of post templates. The standard ones and Cloud library templates.
If you are using standard templates than all the modifications can be done only using the theme panel.
If you are using Cloud library templates ( Header, post template, any cloud template ) That is fully editable using tagDiv composer.
The cloud library templates will overrule the theme panel. Anything you want to edit must be done with tagDiv Composer.
My suggestion is to take a look at our video guides here: https://www.youtube.com/user/tagdiv
I hope this was helpful !
Thank you !
