Hi,

This is a predefined block(render like block 7) for footer and sort featured articles as you can see in the code – http://screencast.com/t/0hn24R9ZbVxS Also you can change footer style if you want and add your own widgets – http://screencast.com/t/CqSXKTqfwZ and add your widgets with your settings(filter category, sort order) – http://screencast.com/t/mI1Z6WNDUx

How do I mark a post as featured? Do I need to create a featured category?

Hi,

If you don’t have Featured category you can create it and please make sure that you use Featured as name and and slug name is featured – http://screencast.com/t/V2xfra5NB as this category is defined in the theme’s code – http://screencast.com/t/OVyu7k9HiGc
