Embed Instagram-Post in Article?

Hi,

I hope you had a good start into the week! For a new article, I’m trying to embed an instagram post (using Newspaper 12.1, WP 6.0.3, Classic Editor). For this, I’ve tried a couple of things already:

1. Just place the url (e.g. https://www.instagram.com/p/[placeholder]/ note: Just used [placeholder] here, but have a working URL in the article) in the article (tried visual and text editor). Here I just see the plain URL then in the article.

2. Using the embed code from instagram (began with putting it into the text editor, but also tried visual).

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to work. It looks like this in the article (above URL, below embed code): https://imgur.com/a/tpLN6I5

Am I missing something here?

P.S.: I’ve just realized that support for oEmbeds was canceled in 2020. Bummer. Is there any way to embed Instagram / Facebook posts (from external accounts, not my own) anymore?
