Hello!
I need to know if it is possible to enable comments in the posts with facebook and / or google plus.
Tnx!
Hello Ing Geek!
Tnx for reply.
The Jetpack plugin it’s in the Newspaper theme, or I must install it to activate the social comments module?
Tnx a lot!
Hello again!
I’ve install the jetpack plugin, create an wordpress.com account and activate it.
Then I’ve activate the comments and the social media comments module, but in the site I only see the wordpress login.
It’s compatible the jetpack module with the newspaper theme?
Must I do something else to activate the comments?
The site is: http://www.elfederalonline.com
Tnx a lot!
Hello,
you do not need to do anything else besides create a jetpack account and then activate the jetpack comments. i tested them with the dark comments skin and they work fine: http://screencast.com/t/PYSddIUSPmdj
Please disable all plugins except visual composer and jetpack, clear cache and reset cdn files.
Thank you!
Hello Again! When you say “create a jetpack account” are you talking about an account in the jetpack site, or the account in wordpress.com than jetpack recommend create?
Tnx again!
By the way, in the screenshot than you post, the login it’s by wordpress account.
Here in my site:
http://www.elfederalonline.com/2016/12/03/dos-por-uno-llego-pircas-negras-por-poly-badoul/
The login it’s by wordpress account too, but the “social media icons” to login doesn’t show.
Here’s the difference:

Another wp site with a simple template and the jetpack, the social login for comments works great.
The Troubleshooting Jetpack Comments say’s something about the comment_form():

Ok, I have checked the site again and it seems the comments are working fine on your end. You can login to the social network and post by logging in to the social network, not the theme or WP so I cannot understand the issue now. What is not working?
Please provide more details.
Thank you!
Hello again!
Last night I recived help from jetpack support and told me the problem was this option:
The “users must be registered and logged to comment” in the wordpress settings was toggled on. I switch to off and everything works fine.
Tnx a lot for the help!
Hi there, I’m unable to get comments working with the Newpaper theme and Jetpack social comments installed. It shows the Google and Facebook icons but when I click the Facebook login icon to leave a comment, the loading bar just keeps loading, never allowing me to comment. Please help. Example page:
https://www.amazingpaleo.com/2017/11/15/getting-my-gut-back-to-health/
I was reading Jetpack’s documentation and they mention that if the comments.php file of my theme doesn’t have “comment_form()” in it then the theme is using an old way of commenting. I did the search in the Newspaper theme comments.php and it doesn’t have the comment form piece, meaning it’s doing commenting in the old WordPress way (pre 3.0).
See their reference page here.https://jetpack.com/support/comments/troubleshooting-jetpack-comments/#:~:text=For%20Jetpack%20Comments%20to%20work,to%20display%20the%20comment%20form.&text=If%20Jetpack%20comments%20work%20when,by%20looking%20at%20your%20comments.

Hi,
I just inspected the login for comment and this is the error you get from jetpack -> https://i.imgur.com/GPGFtND.png an suggestion is to reset the jetpack settings and try again.
Let me know the results!
