Enable Visual Composer in Category Description?

Hey guys,

I would like to create custom category pages like domain.com/health instead of domain.com/category/health and to optimize them like a proper page.

I have tried creating a page and stripping category base to have the same slug but WP prefers category over page (any way around that?)

Is there any way to enable Visual composer on category description? I have tried https://sr.wordpress.org/plugins/enhanced-category-pages/ but it doesn’t do anything 🙁

Hi,

There is no option to enable Visual composer on category pages. The category templates are predefined and there is no setting to edit it and add additional content in the page. Here you can find the category templates in the theme – https://www.screencast.com/t/o9us5uunwj if you would like to modify the code or make modifications to them. The category page consists of a Top post Big grid, and a section containing articles from the respective category. If you would like to implement more elements to these pages, it will have to be made custom or through a plugin if there are any with this capability.

This would be an amazing feature to have!

To be able to build a new category template using the visual composer.
If it came out in a future update that would be amazing. 🙂

Thanks for your reply Simion, I understand.

Don’t know why Enhanced Category pages plugin isn’t working though, it should make this possible.
