Hello,
I have the envato toolkit auto update working for this theme on my Linux boxes. I have one Windows box where this is running and I am unable to get it to update. It seems like a permissions error, but I have checked and tried a few different setups with no luck. It is not the backup feature, that works fine. I unchecked it and still receive the same error.
The error I am getting is here: http://prntscr.com/7y2do1.
Which folder does it need to create?!?! 🙂 Cannot find any info on the web about which directories this plugin needs to work.
Hi,
Is this happening when you want to update plugins also, please try the solutions posted below:
– http://stackoverflow.com/questions/20360396/unpacking-the-update-could-not-create-directory-wordpress
..and make sure that you have permissions set right: https://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_File_Permissions
Let us know how it goes!
Thanks

Hi,
I found this: http://screencast.com/t/opsriwUDEeFx here: http://www.wpexplorer.com/envato-wordpress-toolkit-guide/
Also i see that the plugins make a backup of the old theme and need to create a directory here: http://screencast.com/t/koOrvqFyT You need to check if you have permission there.
Hmmm, as stated in the first post, it created the backup directory and makes the back up (this seems to work fine), there is another process after that in which it is failing. Maybe a temporary folder in the themes directory when it is updating the theme?
My permissions seem to be fine for everything else….including other websites I have running. I imagine it has to be permissions but I am not sure what more I can do as my web service is the owner and has full permissions to this entire WordPress install.
Guess I may have to dig through the entire plugin and see what output folders it may need. I was just hoping someone here knew which directories this plugin would need created besides the backup folder.
