HI,
I am using the NEWSMAG theme and of late I am getting the Error establishing a database connection.
This is the message I got from my support at Host.
We have found a huge load on the server due to RAM utilization. And we increased the size for “max_allowed_packet “ to 1000MB which was 1 MB previously.
Please help!
Did you also increase the default RAM for WordPress ? You need to edit your wp-config.php file to increase the base memory (default in WP is 40MB, but 96MB minimum is needed for Visual Composer).

Hi Radu, The site has gone down again with the same error. I have about 5 categories where one category has over 2300 posts. I will let you know the number of tags we have once the site is up soon.
I need to resolve this very quickly as I am losing credibility and ranking. I could also open up the admin for you to have a look. Please share your email.

I just saw this warning on the tags & The category page dashboard page:

If that plugin generating error; likely good to disable it.
I removed the plugin, but the site is going down every day now?

You can update the VC plugin to the latest version which is 4.5.3 and see if it happens again. To obtain it you can send us an email with a request for it and we will send it to you, use contact@tagdiv.com and also include a link to this tread.
