Error on my Website – Warning: Illegal string offset 'td_post_template'

I have a hostgator shared server that gets updated automatically. Last night it happened an update and I now my website shows an error on the top of it:

Warning: Illegal string offset ‘td_post_template’ in /home3/wadl4i0accao/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_single_template_vars.php on line 75

I saw on other tickets that you guys mentioned this issue is due to the php installation 7.1 and the theme can’t work well on it. That is why we should only use version 7.0

However, I spoke with hostgator and they said they can’t revert the php installation back to 7.0. Also they suggested that I should speak with the developer and these updates only happens because of security or vulnerability issues.

Could you please help me resolving this issue knowing that I can’t revert back the php installation?
