Error Switching to TD Composer

I’m having a lot of trouble switching from VC to TD Composers. VC seemed a lot more intuitive and this one is filled with errors. I am getting a Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function get_current_screen() in /homepages/9/d566011515/…blah blah

I’m trying to add simple text/basic code to the home page. I tried the Text with Title Element but when I try to edit the text in the box, I get the fatal error, can’t save it, can’t preview it and basically have to exit the whole page again and start over – leading to the same error.

This is hours of work (and I’m only doing the homepage – I have a TON more to go). How do we make this switch with something less than 2 weeks of time? If all the shortcodes are the same why do we have to redo everything?

How can we get one on one detailed help for this? You made a pretty video for new users – but left out those of us who have to convert.

Can you just give me the shortcode that is the equivalent of [vc_column_text]

?

Hello nycinsider,

Check the system status parameters to be increased according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/ Most likely, your PHP memory has exhausted and that’s why you cannot save anything, sorry! Also, try to re-create your homepage from scratch with the TD Composer. For this transition, please check the following useful manual here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/visual-composer-tagdiv-composer-transition/

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thanks for your understanding!

This is what is in my config file: define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘6000M’);

Can you just give me the shortcode that is the equivalent of [vc_column_text]

Hello nycinsider,

The equivalent is the same with this. As a suggestion, if you want to commute your builder elements from Visual Composer to TD Composer your should recreate your page with this builder (in this case – TD Composer) to avoid any errors. For more information about this case, please check the following documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/visual-composer-tagdiv-composer-transition/

Please keep in mind that both of these two-page builders are fully tested with the latest version of the theme and should work as expected with it. Notice that is not recommended to be used in simultaneously mode. Please check the following useful guide here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/visual-composer-tagdiv-composer-transition/ If the problem is still there, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your wp-admin so we can further inspect it closer your setup page. Provide there the link to this topic so we can quickly identify you.

Thanks for the message!

It’s near impossible to use that front end thing – so I still don’t understand your answer. What does, “The equivalent is the same with this” mean? Nothing but errors, back and forth from front end to back end, copying code and pasting it to other elements.

Has anyone who constantly builds/updates/writes sites actually used this thing? Themes are not just for designers who build a structure and pass it off to the client. They are also for people who write websites and need to update them daily. This is not a tool for that. VC was much easier to use.

Hello,
OK, let;s try this another way. You cannot use both page builders at the same time and you cannot use elements from one page builder to another. If you want to switch to the tagdiv composer you will have to re-create your existing pages with the new builder that means scratching the old page and creating a brand new one by pressing the add new button and then adding elements to it with the tagdiv composer. Please use this guide to learn how simple it is to use: https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
This guide should help with the settings: https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/
We cannot creqate the pages for you so you will have to eventually learn how to use the builder.
That is IF you want to switch to the new builder. You can always keep VC if you want. Just do not use both at the same time.

Thank you!

None of that answers any of my questions. What parts don’t you understand? VC was removed from my site (which is why I have BROKEN stuff EVERYWHERE!!!!). Now, go back and please try and help me. This has been hours and hours of my time. The front end thing is broken, the elements are missing, you didn’t lay out ANY TYPE of transition guide at all! You didn’t tell us the TD composer doesn’t have even HALF of what VC offers. You didn’t map out how to change the code. All you did in your fancy useless video was market to NEW customers. Ignoring your old ones.

Hello,

The transition guide can be found here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/visual-composer-tagdiv-composer-transition/
The tagdiv composer does not have all the elements vc has.
It was not designed to replicate VC and will not have the exact identical elements.
If you do not like the tagdiv composer simply install VC as it’s included in the theme package. You already have it. for free. Please use this guide to install VC back: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/
By the way, you never mentioned it was removed in the first place. Not in this topic anyway.
If you cannot use VC, you will have to recreate pages from scratch. What should I help with there? I cannot create the pages for you! You must use the page builder and add content to your pages. The old ones must be removed.

Thank you!
