Please check our documentation about Excerpts introduction -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/excerpts-introduction/ please try to both settings letters and words to see each of theme is better for your situation -> https://www.screencast.com/t/xGu0ROSeTCz , also if the problem persist please deactivate all non theme plugins and clear all cache, after that see if the problem persist.
