I am setting excerpts (type letters)
and most settings work well only I don’t understand from the color coding what is the mapping between slides (which also have titles) and the modules.
(Basically – there is no mapping I suppose… – none seem to affect them and the title is VERY short!)
Is there a work around or am I missing something ?
hi,
the blocks display one or more module (each module is a post).
also the slide is a module and is display in the slide block but is a little different because the slide html code has to wrapp the post html code.

Thanks for you message.

I am sorry but I did not understand from your answer how I should update the excerpts for the sliders.
as I said I am in letters mode and it seems like all the sliders (and also in the breadcrumbs) default excerpt is 15 letters and there is not place to change that as far as I can tell.
take a look at my site and you’ll immediately see how the post headlines are cut very short: http://www.virtualida.com/
so… I need a more specific answer on how to change that (hope I need to touch as little code as possible – if this is an upcoming fix please let me know when it’s due)
Hi,
Please change the value for 'excerpt' => in the td_module_slide.php file if you use the normal slide and in the td_module_slide_big.php for the big slider like this: http://screencast.com/t/ykC00Jrvyfvm
Thanks
Thanks!
Hope to this see this value (and the chars per line value!)
in the panel @ next version! 🙂
4.2 fix for slider didn’t seem to do the job (for letters type)
Hi,
You can change this from Theme Panel now from here http://screencast.com/t/4zGlot5y5
I have tested this and it works fine now for titles from big slider: http://screencast.com/t/7uC3Obg9
Unfortunately we have missed this option for the normal slider in theme panel.
Sorry about this, it will be added in the next update. Until then you can still change it from here: http://screencast.com/t/N2M9WLcavq
Thanks
Yea…
I didn’t know what was fixed and what was not so I just did the same for both (td_module_slide.php & td_module_slide_big.php).
Also, if you are doing this – I found that I need to change the other parameter as well (chars per line also) to make it look nice – particularly when working with type “letters” so you may want to add this option the panel… (for both slide types).
