I have newspaper theme v6.2 installed on my website.

To increase the user retention onto my website i want to open a subscribe popup with either a newsletter subscription or Facebook Like Box popup on First time website load for a user onto my portal.
How can this be achieved. I searched for multiple plugins but they impact the speed of the website drastically.
What’s the most fruitful and convenient way to achieve this without hampering the website speed and which is compatible with theme as well.

There are 2 ways to go about this. The first one is using a plugin. Most of our users have mailchimp and use it without issues. The second way is doing it yourself which involves quite a bit of custom work, as it is no easy thing to do. We recommend you hire a developer from sites like http://studio.envato.com

I have already tried mailchimp. But i want to delay to load of the popup by say 10sec so that when the website page has completely loaded then only the popup comes up. This way the website speed will never be affected.

I see mailchimp has a delay of 5 seconds, but you can ask them how you can increase their product’s delay, as we cannot offer support for plugins.
