Hi I have recently updated my newspaper theme to 7.0.1 and the social counter to 4, I have also verified my credentials on facebook. but my facebook counter is still set to zero. We actually have just under 9000 likes.

Please ensure that you have right followed all the steps in this regard according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-social-counter-tutorial-2/ and also, please ensure that you are the latest version of the theme and our plugins (Visual Composer 4.11.2 and Social Counter 4.0), clear all your caches, purge CDN file is you are using CDN and test it again. So, if you problem is still there after this advice, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so I can further inspect it closer the setup page. I deleted my facebook app, and recreated another following the steps exactly. I have also verified that both the visual composer and social counter are up to date.
I do not have a CDN, and I cleared the cache. It still is not working. I have sent you crendtials to the email contact@tagdiv.com.

I am having the same problem, I have Social Counter Plugin 3.1. I don’t see any available upgrade in the plugin panel. How can I update it to version 4.0 ?

Please try to update your theme to the latest version of it (Newspaper 7.0.1). Please notice that all required plugins come bundled with our theme and there you will find the latest version of Social Counter. Please try to update your theme only through FTP because this is the surest method in this regard, clear all your caches and check again the results.

I already updated the theme using Envato Toolkit plugin. Do I need to update with FTP again?

The updating through FTP is our recommendation because this is the surest method for your theme updating. Please notice that are okay and others way for theme updating but please notice that usually can appear some issues/errors in theme, regarding the update.
