Hi, from few days ago, I started to have issues with facebook share posts.
It is not just the case with my original website, but with all websites and hostings whereever I tested it.
I even installed clean instalation on complete different server with different domain. I installed DEMO.
When I share posts on facebook it in most cases fails to pull the FEATURED image.
Sometimes it pulls featured image, sometimes not, but there are times and ”places” where it do not pull f.image at all.
Funny.
The google+ post share is working normal.
Seems like fb is having some dificulties with pulling featured images from post for some reason.
Can you please check it out.

This has been the case with FB for the past couple of years; nothing new.

They are also beta testing gallery pull — where if there are multiple images on post, they can now grab all of them, or you can select certain ones, or only one.

Then sometimes they have issue grabbing anything at all.

I just had this issue. Luckily they made a solution; you can try the “refresh attachment” option from the actual post on your timeline on FB.

Refresh attachment option is not there.
However i found this issues:

Meta with name instead of property – The meta tag on the page was specified with name ‘author’, which matches a configured property of this object type. It will be ignored unless specified with the meta property attribute instead of the meta name attribute.

og:image could not be downloaded or is too small :
og:image was not defined, could not be downloaded or was not big enough. Please define a chosen image using the og:image metatag, and use an image that’s at least 200x200px and is accessible from Facebook. etc etc

Featured image is big. So this cant be issue. The meta name vs meta property I do not understand.

I also found this:

fb:admins and fb:app_id tags are missing. These tags are necessary for Facebook to render a News Feed story that generates a high click-through rate.

Update: I will fix what fb said.

btw I have found this ”refresh attachment” option.
It remove itself on timeline, but if you go to post page, you can find it again.

Yeah, sorry – forgot to mention the trick is to click the little “time ago” link for when it was posted like “just now” or “10 minutes ago” and THEN the refresh attachment option is there. Talk about NOT being intuitive! 🙂

At least they added it. All last year i would often have to delete a post, come back in a couple hours and try again. Super annoying!!

Yep. Imagine how I was feeling all this time not knowing this option exists. 🙂
However I have superhuge conecerns. I am transfering on Inmotion vps from some shared hosting. Which is actually super great. But RAM usage is every now and then going alot over 300mb so it could be the time to go for vps, which I need to learn how to optimize it more for speed and security.

However I forgot to say that sometimes I need to scroll down to load full page before I share the post to facebook, since everything is on lazy load. Maybe this also bothers facebook. But I really don’t feel like disabling this just to test it out.

Facebook is supposed to read the og tag for image, but does not always do so. Same issue with google. I turned lazy loading off.

So you turned it off and still issues? pfff

Well I just like it too much to turn it off. Page seems faster with it.
I have before post share buttons and after. So when I try few times the upper buttons and they don’t work, I switch to bottom ones and it works 🙂 – or vice versa.
