Have seen a few posts about this now being fixed, but my social counter always shows zero even after following instructions and re-creating new facebook app.
any ideas/news?

Maybe it is a cache issue. Since the latest update (8.7.4) Facebook in the social counter requires just the ID, no other information is required

So no need for Facebook security keys or tokens.
You could try changing the ID a few times, use some test IDs (coca-cola or bbc for example). The counter should display accurate counts. Then switch back to your ID and check the results.

I do not work either of the two options. How can this be resolved?
Found the issue.. but its very random
I did as suggested and other pages counts worked. put in my facebook page username, and it didnt work.
i changed my facebook page username (goto your facebook page, click about, change username) and it worked!
