Hello
On the following page http://staging1.2017.anglicanjournal.com/article/church-leaders-offer-prayers-after-deadly-attack-in-westminster/ the featured video is a Facebook video, and it is putting out a ton of whitespace to the right and bottom of the video.
YouTube videos are not having the same issue. Thanks.
Hello,
The video comes with an iframe from facebook width a fixed width and height but the video is not big enough to fill the space. It behaves the same way on our end but unfortunately there is nothing to be done from the theme side. Facebook provides the iframe in the embed code.
The iframe code cannot be changed from the theme side. Sorry for the incconvenience but some facebook videos create such problems as it has no proper embed properties except their embed options which require you to actually add the html to the page. https://www.screencast.com/t/XF96U172mhR but the theme featured video field will not accept html, sorry.
Thank you!
Hi! i have the same problem. FB video is not filling up the space and has so much space at the bottom.
i tried it on my other theme (KLEO) and it’s working fine.
check sample facebook video post –> http://comm.hoops.ph/sample-facebook-video/
can you still correct this issue?
Hello,
Our theme uses the original size provided by facebook and the original size provided is 600 pixels for a video that is nowhere near that height: https://www.screencast.com/t/H4n91KdQ
I understand the theme work fine with fb vidfeos but it seems to have a different implementation for fb videos.
We will look into this issue and try to find a fix for these videos in a future theme release. Until then you can maybe try to embed the video inside the post content and not the featured video.
Thank you!
Hi,
Sorry but there are specific Facebook videos which will not work properly when set as featured videos. We recommend embedding these videos directly into the post and using a standard featured image for the thumbnail instead. You can use post style 5 that will not show the featured image and only display the embeded video on top of the post. Sorry for the inconvenience. Standard embeds work properly in our theme as well.
Thanks.
Hi,
I am having the same issue here. Version 7 would make the video fit the full width rather than bringing in the set width from facebook.
Is there a way to change the CSS so it makes the FB iframe fill the space?
It’s odd that it worked in Newspaper 7 and not 8.
Thanks
Ross
