Is it just me or are there way too many options within the theme panel? I find myself spending way too much time tinkering with the site’s colors and layout. Also, the photos are in every dimension except the normal 300 x 300 that I typically would use prior to switching themes. I am hoping to match much of the theme back to the style and functionality of the original site prior to server migration and switching themes. I am considering switching themes simply because there is nothing easy about this theme from my estimation. (I apologize for the frustration) Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

There are indeed a ton of options!
I waste time doing the exact same thing.
You seem to have a good control of what you are doing on your new site, but I would make those fonts a little bigger.
and I also wish we could assign different size images for things more easily.
I have been using the “flex” layout blocks to get things exactly the way I want in regards to displaying images on standalone pages.
and I wish we had a little easier control over mobile menu items vs desktop menu items.
I know you can hide/show these things in CSS but they still load for a split second until css kicks in and hides them. which is hit or miss depending on your cache settings and connection speed and server speed.
Yah, I’m spending way too much time on something for not being a developer. Thanks for hearing me out. Another issue I’m running into is setting up the front page. I don’t believe I’ve ever really used a front page that wasn’t my blogroll. With massive amount of backlinks (10K+) I wanted to invest in something that gave nice click throughs and higher avg time on site etc…. But this is honestly more complicated and time consuming than what its worth it seems. Also, confused on why hardly any of the demo sites are actually newspapers or news sites? Most are company / non news sites from what I can gather. See mostly professional services / business sites ie Dentist office.
Hi,
Sorry for your experience so far, we do try to add only popular requests or essential settings in each update. I will try to help you with the questions you have and problems you are facing.
Indeed a 300x300px thumbnail size does not exist. You could use flex blocks and manipulate the image to have the dimensions you require (it won’t be an actual thumbnail)

Flex blocks can be customized to look in many ways, this is an example using flex block 1

The theme received quite a few multi-purpose options a while back, we created some demos to showcase these multi-purpose capabilities. You can sort the demos here
– https://demo.tagdiv.com/select_demo/select_demo_newspaper
The front page can either be the default WordPress blog, or a static page designed with our tagDiv composer
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/homepage-how-to-build-and-set-it/
The static page will allow you to have more control over the content the homepage displayed.
Blocks, grids etc, can be sorted+filtered and many other settings

Please let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks
