feature image thumbnail

Is there way to generate featured thumbnails for a post from a url. For example say i post a url from imgur.com, when i go to my homes page it will show a grey box as the post. Can i get a plugin or add code to have a featured thumbnail automatically added? Like how reddit does it when you add a link to their website there is a feature image automatically made.

The theme was designed to use featured images only from WordPress install, not from external links. You can try to use a plugin with a similar functionality to achieve that but I can’t make any recommendation in this regard as we didn’t tests and I am not sure how these plugins will work with our theme.

I’ve tried all of the plugins and they DON’T work with Newspaper.
