Hi I have used the images in my posts from out external source.

The theme can’t display featured image from external sources, the image must be uploaded in your WordPress via media library.

Yes it appears to work on back-end and it may also work on single posts. However the theme won’t generate the proper thumbs for each modules and there may be some issues with the layout.
Unfortunately I can’t point any specific way in this regard as we didn’t made any tests, also the theme was not designed for this.

For the moment we didn’t plan to add such a feature to the theme but I’ve added it on our todo list an if more people will make similar requests in the feature we will take it into consideration.
I can’t recommend any plugin in this regard as we didn’t made any tests and we can’t say how plugins with similar functionality will work with our theme. You can do a search online, try a few plugins and use the one who fits you best.
