How about adding some “Custom post type”? And adding the little swapping icons which you’ve already done for video.
I would like to the see the following:

Sometimes it’s usefull to use this for a couple of articles which belongs to a series.

– About a gallery slider, we will take a look for future updates. Added to our list.
