I have a category with three subcategories. Now I want to create a template for the main category with different blocks and a list of all items underneath.
For example:
Block 1: the three most recent articles in subcategory A
Block 2: the three most recent articles in subcategory B
Block 3: the three most recent articles in subcategory C
Followed by the standard listing for all articles in the categories.
Now the problem: Since the categories do not receive new articles evenly every day, the articles in block 1, 2, 3 are also included in the listing of all articles. Normally you would work with an offset, but this is not possible in this case and would only work if no subcategories were included.
For pages there is the option “Unique article”, couldn’t this option also be used for the categories? This would give Newspaper users much more freedom in the design of the category pages

Unfortunately, the unique article is only for the pages. You can try to use other options for filtering subcategories based on the tags or custom fields.
