We are using the “subtitle” field for all our posts to show an introductory text already under the title and before the picture. However, on the start page the excerpt of the post starts with the content. Therefore, we always need to copy the subtitle field and insert it into the excerpt field of the post manually. This is inconvenient, bloats the database – and is probably wrong since the subtitle should be considered as part of the article content.
Therefore, I suggest to add an option (e.g. in the theme panel excerpt section) to enable using the subtitle as excerpt. Since this probably involves an additional database lookup per article ($this->post in get_excerpt() of includes/wp_booster/td_module.php includes the excerpt but not the custom fields) it could also be done the other way round: use the excerpt field as subtitle. However, this is not logically sound…

I would love for this to be supported as well.
I can’t really see the point of having a subtitle if it’s only shown on the post page. In journalism (in some countries) it is considered more relevant to show the subtitle of a post on a front page than the body text.
