First – I need to tip my hat to the TagDiv Team – love – Love – LOVE the power, the look, and the flexibility of this theme. Still getting use to finding my way around – but I am in “Geek Paradise”.

I have however hit a wall and as a last resort I need to ask for some help. I’m having an issue with my Thumbs on the module blocks. My featured image is in a 16X9 (1021X580) and I need 4X3 on some of these blocks for it to look right. The default thumbnail appears to capture the center of the image leaving both ends cut off. (Picture to the left and text to the right.) I have taken the time to crop a basic 4X3 thumbnail for various sizes in the panel (80X60 – 100×70 – 200×200 etc…) via a Post Thumbnail Editor plugin and can see the thumbnails from my admin panel. (In other words – I can create the desired effect with the with the majority of the image sizes already defined.
These new thumbs do not pull up on the site however in the various blocks I’ve created. I’ve cleared my cache, disabled the lazy load, flipped the switch on soft load, even pulled this up on various computers and tablets I have without any inkling the block is pulling the actual sized thumbnail I’ve taken the time to crop.
Regen Thumbnail also appears to override any cropping or changes made to the aspect ratio of the thumbnails – ultimately erasing the thumbs I’ve taken the time to set by hand.

I’d like to use other block to generate categories, and featured items I have, but have been stuck on this one issue for two days. I really need to move on but can’t! LOL!

We would like to thank you for your kind feedback. We do our best to offer high quality themes and also we focus on helping our clients understanding how they works.
All theme’s blocks where designed to use specific thumbs depending by each module’s layout. Our blocks are build from one or more modules. For example block 1 use for first post module 4 and for others posts module 6. Each module have its specific thumb which it’s used when that module it’s displayed on the page. To change the thumb size for one module it’s required a bit of coding and this are the steps that must be taken:

– edit the file corresponding for the module which you want to modify and change the current thumb size with your custom size: http://screencast.com/t/bnUKk2wKzQk
You will have to be careful at module’s layout after applying this changes because it’s possible to be needed some adjustments in it.
Please consider that this is a complex task which requires lots of customiations and good coding skills in order to be achieved. We can’t offer customization services at the moment so if you still need guidance on this or you’re not aware of the steps you need to take in this regard please consider hiring a developer or a freelancer to do this for you.

Here’s the thing – I don’t want to change the code. I want the specified thumb to pull up in each block when needed. I have all these sizes specified and tweaked to look right, but it’s not calling them up when needed.
For example: Here’s the edited thumbnails I have in my media file. All of them set to the specific size and needed to fit into the template as is.
However, when viewing the site, these same thumbnails or edited images are not being called up. Here’s an example of my footer that requires a 100X75 and should pull up td_100x75. Clearly it is not pulling the right thumbnail.

The theme will pull the thumbnail created for the featured image and in the size specified in the code (not the ones from wordpress settings).
Unfortunately this is how our themes crop images (center-top).
You can find and edit the thumbnails in the upload folder on your server.
However, replacing the thumbnail for every image is not a viable solution. The best thing to do is create a new custom thumbnail for your block as Andrei suggested above. You can use the theme api system shown here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/api-thumbnail-introduction/

After a bit more digging, I figured out it couldn’t call the various thumbs from the server.
I did figure out a solution and moving forward, all graphics and picks will be able to fit inside the 4:3 container for the smaller graphics. I’ve done some modifications to current images using a new Photoshop template and it appears to work well.
Given enough time, I can have all the graphics moving forward fit the various containers without issue. In the meantime the pages I create will have to be rather selective – making sure the blocks don’t crop off the older images I have that will come up from time to time. I do have enough blocks to work with to make it work for now.

Personally – I’m LOVING this new theme and all it can do. The wife on the other hand is not all that happy with the amount of time I’m spending “playing on the computer”. (She’ll get over it when I take her out to dinner tonight.)
