Can a default image be assigned to this placeholder in case there is no featured image on the post?

Hello bhadrabalaram,
If you want to change the placeholder default image when you have not featured image set it, you will need to make new images in the no-thumb folder: http://screencast.com/t/ZIpgec18M8 and these images should have the exact same size as the thumbs.
