Featured Image Placeholder

Hello,

We’d like to customize the default Featured Image Placeholder — but noticed that the default thumbnails are in the Newspaper theme folder (wp-content/themes/Newspaper/images/no-thumb).

Is there a place that we can store default thumbnail images so that they will not be overwritten when we update Newspaper theme?

Hi,

The path to the placeholder images is set in the general module file

That file is not supported to be modified in a child theme, if it would be a modification to the path would work. For example
– https://www.screencast.com/t/On9DXdtNNbh
But as it is you would have to modify the path in the module file after each update, in the main theme.

Ok… thanks for the timely response!

Is there any chance that theme developers could add an option to upload a Featured Image Placeholder in the theme panel? This would be a big help– as the option that you suggested is not really good practice.

Hi,

That is a good suggestion, I will add it on our list. It will be considered by our developer team and maybe make it’s way in the theme eventually, can’t promise anything however. Sorry for any inconvenience.
