Actually I want to add an embedded image as the featured image of the post. Is there some way that it can be done?
If not, is it possible to switch off the “display featured posts” option for only a particular category? (this way I would be able to not show the featured image within the post but still be able to use it as image thumbnail for homepage).

I have another query; the embedded image that I use, it embeds some text with it (which shows up in the excerpt on homepage- in block 6, 13 etc.). Is there any way to tell the theme that this text belongs to the embedded picture and not the actual paragraph of the article.
