When I mouse over a featured image it displays the image title, which is the filename by default. Is there a way to have it show the caption rather than the title on mouse over?

Unfortunately the theme has no option for it and the hover message is displayed dynamic for every post in the block. Unfortunately there is no easy way to change it. You will need custom modification and a bit of php knowledge to do it.

I don’t even have a way to show the caption anywhere, how would I enable that?
Please provide more details as to where you want the caption to show. On posts or on pages (visual composer blocks as they are 2 very different things) or on category archives.

Some post templates have the caption hidden as a design choice. Some templates show the caption, and some don’t. Please provide the template you want to show captions on as there are several that do not show them.
The default template, template 1 and 2 show captions. Styles 3,4,6,7,8 don’t.
