Hello,
You can limit the featured image size with css for desktop if you always require that dimension but it depends on the post style that you use. Please provide the post style you want to use for posts as it;s not possible n all post styles.

I am currently having a similar issue.
I have a category, under which there are a lot of posts (participants of an event). The default pictures have a variety of dimensions, some are 1900×1800 pix. This, of course, doesn’t come up, when one sees the thumbnail, but it does so, when You open the post. Even if I set the right thumbnail, when I open the post, I am seeing the picture in its full dimension.
Is there a way, how I can set that all the posts within this category the featured image for a specific dimension – 324×235?
These posts are using “Style 2” and “Module 5”.

Different post styles will show the featured image in different dimensions. Please try to use a different post style that will limit the featured image size like the default post style for example.

Yes that seems a reasonable solution.
But still, isn’t there a line of code that would set the featured image dimensions only for a specific category?
