We updated WordPress and featured images stopped showing on the homepage. They’re still showing within articles and on category pages, just not on the homepage. We are using the most up to date version of Newspaper 7.

I went through the forum and saw people advising users to turn off plugins and check to see which one could be causing the issue. I did that but couldn’t get the images to load back (even after resetting the cache).
Any help would be appreciated.

I have checked your website and it seems your images are stuck in opacity 0. This usually happens on a js error caused by plugins or customization or other external optimization tools.
Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset CDN files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functioning of the theme.

I disabled all plugins and the images are still not showing. I cleared the cache, even checked on another computer.
Any other idea what this could be?

I have inspected your website again and the major problem of your images happens due to an opacity parameters which is 0, as you can see here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/CoUSpx96 and it should be 1. So, try to disable the lazy load effect from Theme panel and check again the results after you will have clear all the caches.
