Newspaper is a great theme but I can’t help feeling there is something missing! Why is it so difficult to show a featured image on a page? With a theme that’s as good as Newspaper, it should be easy – but with the current toolset (Composer) it’s impossible.
Why is this?
Personally, I would like to see a module like the “Homepage Post” which would allow me to show a featured image as the background and header. It looks great – so why restrict it to posts?

Hi,
Depending on how you look at it, there could be many things missing. You cannot have it all in a theme. Please understand that the tagDiv composer is yet to be be complete. More elements and options will be added in future updates. Also each theme update is meant to implement more features. The list of suggestions is carefully analyzed, but it is hard for the developers to decide what gets priority.
So we will just have to wait and see what each update will bring in terms of new options and features.

I have already made some progress with my own “featured image” page template. The only problem is that I do not know how to assign the featured image to the page background. Would it be possible for you to give me some insight into this please?

The theme uses the image uploaded through the theme panel as background

This background image is overridden by the category background, or post styles that use a featured image as background
