Since a few weeks the featured images that my site shows are of a lower resolution. The original images themselves are high quality (2000 pixels on the long side). The exact same image in the posts themselves are fine. When I watch the page in the tagDiv composer they also are the right resolution.
It seems that the posts in the list that are loaded during scrolling do have correctly sized thumbs. From the thirteenth post and down the thumbnails have the correct resolution.
The first block on the frontpage is Big Grid 2 (Module MX9 and MX10). The list underneath is Block 11 (Module 10). The posts in the sidebar are Block 8 (Module 7).
The live website can be found at http://www.ommenaar.nl
I have rebuilt the frontpage, and regenerated all the thumbnails.
Active plugins:
Ad Blocker Notify Lite
Envato Market
Classic Editor
Regenerate Thumbnails
tagDiv Composer
WP Super Cache
Yoast SEO
These haven’t changed the last months.
Hi,
Usually those are plugins conflicts.
I check your website and now is seems to look good -> https://www.wonderplugin.com/wordpress-tabs/
Thank you!
It doesn’t look good on my side. It’s is not particularly bad on a normal 1080p screen. But on a retina device for example it is definitely noticeable. I have already tried disabling all plugins (and regenerating all thumbnails during that time) but that doesn’t change anything.
What is the connection with WonderPlugin? I don’t use that plugin.
Hi,
Please check our documentation for Retina Images -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/retina-images/
Hope this will help you.
Thanks.
Yes I am aware off that documentation, and have had that enabled since I published the site. The retina files exist on the server but are not being loaded. For example; the big image (MX9) of the Big Grid loads the regular sized 741×486 image. Instead, it should load the 1482×972 image. Simply changing the source url in a HTML inspector shows the right image. (The same happens in the tagDiv composer.) It would seem that that theme is not recognizing it should load the retina files.
I am aware. But it’s not doing that. It shows the same low resolution file on an iPhone X, iPad Air, Galaxy 9 and MacBook with retina screen as it does on a standard 1080p screen. As I described in the original post it does load the correct file when scrolled down. As I said; it seems the theme is not recognizing it should load the retina files. It used to show the correct files without any problems. Without any changes to for example plugins it stopped doing that. For as far as I can trace it changed after an update to the theme.
