Thank you for crafting this beautiful theme, it works great!
There is one (hopefully) small thing that I just cannot figure out: I would like to have featured posts (or any category, really) to have a different background on blocks (module 4, 6, 10, and mx4, but if I can get it to work on just one, I could figure out the rest).

Unfortunately there is no easy solution i can provide for this. You will need to check if the post is featured and then add the background to it. You will have to add a condition in the theme files to pull it off.
You can use a condition that checks the category: https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/in_category and then use javascript to add a custom class to the title or the excerpt so you can target it with css. If you cannot do it you will have to get some hired help as we cannot offer any custom work at the moment.
