I’m testing all features right now – before I clean the mess up and found something which grinds my gears.
I wrote an article with a youtube link and I marked this at “Featured Video”

When you open the post, you can see the video. No problem- good!
But you don’t see a thumbnail on the main page p.e at Popular Videos – ect.
It’s just white with no thumbnail
Can somebody tell me why? Do I need a special post template or have to change sidebar position? The style sheet ist also picked as “video”

You have to add the video as featured video if you want to have a thumbnail http://screencast.com/t/o293Ulou
This way the video will be added by default at the top of your post. You can use Post template style 5 if you don’t want the featured video to be displayed at the top and add it as you like by pasting the video URL in the post content.

Yeah did that, but no preview on main page (like feat. image) – it was just blank…. white space and under it the title of the article….

I have also checked your site and noticed that you have the standard post type http://screencast.com/t/LhS2iO0WUT for the posts that don’t have any feature image, if those posts are the one that you have set the featured video please make sure you set them to video post format.

– but still no thumbnail of the video. (just white blank field)

The http://cherrykoks.de/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/images/no-thumb/art-big-1col.png is the path fro the thumbnail placeholder, that image shows up when there is no images to show there.
Please deactivate all your plugins except those theme requires so this way you are sure that is no plugin conflict that generates this and then please make sure you add the video into the featured video field and regenerate thumbnails like this: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-fix-strange-thumbnails/
If this doesn’t solve it please give us wp-access and send your user and pass at contact@tagdiv.com so we can check and also send a link to this topic.
