Featured Video not working after updating the theme

Hello!

Our website is https://www.goodnewsunlimited.com and we currently updated the theme to the current version of Newspaper 444.
We already tried refreshing the site and adding the link to the featured video but it doesnt work. Also we tried embedding the code it does show up in the editor but not on the final post.

I had the same problem with my site https://godhelpusall.com but solved it by making sure all embedded videos start with ‘https’ instead of ‘http’

Also have to modify a theme file ‘td_video_support.php’ which is explained in this thread:

We have been using https and they still don’t work – both the video feature of the theme as well as embedding is showing up blank 🙁

I checked your website and the video link you provided.

Both show the video that is embedded start http:// and not https://

Try changing this and see how you get on.

The ‘featured video’ option only recognises videos from Vimeo or Youtube not Ustream!

If you still have problems with YouTube or Vimeo videos when using the featured video option you need to modify the ‘td_video_support.php’ file as in the link below:

You can either modify the original file supplied when you downloaded the theme and then upload it via FTP or use FTP to download it modify and re upload.

As far as I am led to believe the new version of Newspaper (Version 5) will fix this problem.

Unfortunately you suffer due to having chosen an HTTPS website over a HTTP one!

Hey tagDiv friends,

I’m trying to get it working and thought being double-sure the theme is the latest version I’ve downloaded the theme again and tried updating it. But I got this:

Installing Theme from uploaded file: themeforest-5489609-newspaper.zip
Unpacking the package…

Installing the theme…

The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.

Theme install failed.
