I noticed that the Newspaper theme allows only either a featured image or a featured video. I want to set the featured image, but also allow for the video to be put into the post under the featured image (embedded video). How do I do that with this theme? For example, in the previous theme that i was using, I could put this in the page and it would show as a youtube video in the page.

Maybe there is a plugin that would recognize this automatically as a video in the pages? Any recommendations? Problem is I used this for all my blog posts. Going back through hundreds of posts to correct this would be quite a chore. Also, when using the “Featured video” when editing the blog post, the theme replaces the featured image. With the video as the featured video, the home page (https://www.matsati.com/) shows a blank page image which is not very nice to look at. I basically would like to have the video embedded into the post. All of my posts used what is shown above, is there any way to get the Newspaper theme to recognize these as embedded videos?

If you want to have a video under the featured image in a post, you should simply add the YT video URL at the post content, like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/u5rZHsynn38 and the result is here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/tyM0eW9ZF70
If you want to use the Featured Video, notice that our theme has some post templates intended for this purpose such as -> https://www.screencast.com/t/H0tBkA6FI Notice that our theme will automatically create the featured image from the cover of your Featured Video as you can see in the above screen. You can remove that featured image and replace it with your, click update, clear all the caches and check the results.
