File Manager

Good Afternoon,

I would like to know do you have some type of File Manager I can use to better organize all the photos on my site? My site is going to be uploading at least 30 photos a week that are associated with various articles and certain photos are used on regular basis. So there is no need to continuously re-upload the same photos but it is becoming difficult to locate and organize the photos as more are added, since they are all in one folder. Maybe they could be organized by date or something of that nature.

If you don’t offer one could you recommend one to me please.

You can use the built-in media manager in WordPress.
http://codex.wordpress.org/Media_Library_Screen

You can also name your files in an intelligent way to keep track of them.

e.g., we often name our files based on story and author initials…

Also, you can specify to upload files into date based folders, to be able to find things by month/day/year.

Not sure that helps. But images are actually managed by WordPress, not the theme 🙂

You can set media uploads to be in date based folders from

WP settings > media
