file_exists(): open_basedir restriction in effect in td_api.php on line 370

Hello,

My localhost webserver for developing is on:
WinNMP on Windows 10 with NGINX + PHP 7.2.4.

Into the PHP.ini file I have this:
open_basedir = "C:/"

This is the warning I get loading the website:
Warning: file_exists(): open_basedir restriction in effect. File(C:\Dev\Workspace\trasporto/wp-content/themes/trasporto-childC:\Dev\Workspace\trasporto\wp-content\plugins\td-social-counter/shortcode/td_block_social_counter.php) is not within the allowed path(s): (C:/) in C:\Dev\Workspace\trasporto\wp-content\themes\Newspaper\includes\wp_booster\td_api.php on line 370

The private static function locate_the_file($id = ”) on td_api.php should let the plugins to register themselves paths, but I receive this error and on the row 368 I have:
$child_path = STYLESHEETPATH . str_replace(TEMPLATEPATH, '', $the_component['file']);

I don’t know is a bug of this code, or I have something on the database that is wrong.

VERY IMPORTANT: I can’t re-install everything from a clean installation because the website is on production.
Could you help me to understand why I get this kind of error and in which way I can solve the problem?

Thanks,
Michele Falconi

Hello,
I solved the problem. Was on the “if statement” on this row (365):
and (stripos($the_component['file'], TEMPLATEPATH) == 0 )

And I fixed with:
and (stripos($the_component['file'], TEMPLATEPATH) != false )

In this way if the PATH does not have TEMPLATEPATH inside, it will skip the change of the file path for child path. And it works.

Now, I don’t want to edit parent theme and I wish to fix this on my child theme.
There is a way to do it?

Thanks,
Michele

Hello,

!=false will not do it as there will still be cases in which the code will return true.

The proper code would be

and (stripos($the_component['file'], TEMPLATEPATH) === 0 )

Try it with 3 = as above and see if you still get the warning.
I will also add this to our buglist and fix it in the next theme version.

Thank you!
