(Hosted through VPS hosting with 2GB RAM)
Please help me to speed up things.
With regards
Time to first byte has to do with various factors like host speed, hard drive speed, type of network connection (e.g., 100/1000 vs 10/100) for server, number of CPU cores available, etc.
You should try to “tune” that kind of thing with default WP theme first to get fastest time to first byte, then later install the TD theme once you have a speedy start time.
Hi Lucian
Thanks for your detailed reply. When i analyze the issue, found that newspaper theme CSS file and JS composer CSS totally seems around 1.5 MB. Is it possible to manually minimize it?
When i try to minimize them via online minification sites like http://cssminifier.com/ http://www.cleancss.com/css-minify/http://csscompressor.com/ and http://refresh-sf.com/ browser went unresponsive and unable to get minified CSS
Did you ever tried these tools?
(Note: I am very curious to know what happened in your end, Please try once before reply this thread)
As noted in prior queries to you on the forum, see some of the option in my sticky post on optimizing the theme and your site for better performance.
In my sticky thread I us cssminifier which works perfectly. As I posted in your other thread, if your web browser crashes USING the minifier you likely didn’t use it right or try another web browser.
Also in my sticky post is a link to the Google recommend JS minifier.
However, not ALL CSS and JS can be minified properly.
Minifying the main style.css is wise. However you need to do so using a text editor, not a word processor, and if your server is running Linux vs Windows, you need to make sure you save the text file with Linux line breaks vs PC/Windows line breaks — a good text editor like TextPad, BBEdit, or similar has this capability.
Not sure if that helped. I can’t help you “tune your web server” as there are too many kinds of servers as well as the issues I mentioned above — e.g., a server with gigabit switch will be faster than one with a 10/100 switch; 7200 RPM drives vs 5400 RPM drives faster, 100 domains on box vs 1000, etc. all play into performance.

Hi Chris
Thanks for your Speed tips. Based on your suggestions, i have removed JS composer CSS file using small function. (Of course only for post pages) Now it seems some what better. But still there is 700KB style.css file that shipped with newspaper theme. So, to reduce the file size i have minified it and replaced manually.

But when i use above CSS file theme layout broken. Where i did wrong? Also please share the sticky post URL which contains instructions speed up the site. (There are many in sticky)
With regards
