Fix articles' snippet

Hello,
I created a template with visual composer for being used on articles in Newspaper theme.
The problem is that the automated creation of the snippet appears like this:
See the green arrow
I want to eliminate those texts coming from visual composer’s elements (“[vc_row]” etc.).

The theme suggested me to install Visual Composer and Seo plugins so I hope that you have a solution for this.
Thank you

Hi,
Well in order to have block elements on your post page, you will require visual composer as it is required by the theme. Visual composer is not tested on posts so we cannot say for sure how it will affect seo. You can try to use the shortcodes without the rows and columns to see if it will position properly.
Unfortunately I have no better answer as VC is not tested on posts.
Thank you.

Ok but it should be a way to override this with a meta description template like “%%excerpt%%” or similar used by the newspaper template itself.
Eliminating shortcodes, as you suggested, doesn’t solve the problem.

Hi,
I have checked your site and saw that you do not have any block element from visual composer on your posts, you are just using it to create post content (standard text). The theme requires visual composer but only for pages, not posts. You can create your post content inside the wordpress mce editor and not use visual composer at all for post. if you do, then the shortcodes will be picked up in the meta, so in this case you will have to manually add the meta description for each post as there is no automatic way to do this.
Please look at this video guide on how to create posts properly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iuENF-Oeg2Y
Thank you!

I had to create and use a vc template for each article because it is an editorial site and the authors who will write on it just want a faster and comfortable way to write an article, instead of dealing with html code.
Anyway, thank you for your clarification.

Hi,
Well, you do not have to use html as the visual editor is ‘wysiwyg’ and it does not ‘need’ html. It’s true that more complex elements will require a bit of html.
Thank you.

Yes, in this case I created a preset 2 columns table so they can easily add content inside the cells, without losing time creating and formatting a table.

Hello okgo87,

I am glad that you accomplished doing that. If you need more guidance in this regard, you will have to ask us.

Thanks.
