Footer Cloud Template Not Editable with TagDiv Once Template has been Saved

I can create and edit a footer cloud template okay, but when I save it, close the tagDiv composer and then go back to edit the cloudsave footer template, no option exists that says “Edit with tagDiv composer”. Therefore, I can no longer edit the template except in code view. See image below:

Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

Hello Anamaria, I am having the same issue as Socratease2640!

I am sorry, but this discussion you linked https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/cant-edit-footers/ doesn’t seem to have the answer to the problem.

Anamaria, you stated that, “The footer template does not have the button to be edited with tagDiv Composer in the backend.”

If you review Socratease2640!’s screenshot, you’ll see they were first able to edit their footer cloud template with the tagDiv composer and after saving and going back to edit again, the option to “Edit with tagDiv Composer” is no longer there.

I am experiencing same exact issue.

Please help. Thank you.

Hello,

In the screenshot is the footer template which does not have the edit button, and the header template which has the edit button on the back => https://www.screencast.com/t/9HgxEEv7QP, are two different templates this is how they were made.
Also, the steps to edit the footer are those from that topic, but to be much clearer and for a good understanding I made this video https://www.screencast.com/t/j1lKvwrChrWy that I hope will help you.

Hey Harefamilia,

My understanding is that for the footer template only, you have to first assign it to a page (any page, I chose the homepage) . This can be done in the theme panel footer area or in the website manager. Strangely, setting it on one single page seems to make the footer appear globally on every page. Then you go back to THAT page to edit the footer. The “edit with TagDiv Composer” does NOT appear if you try to edit the footer template directly. Personally, I find it very inconsistent and confusing that they have done it this way. The footer template should be editable in the same way the header template is, that is, with the “edit with TagDiv composer”.

Hope this helps,

Hello!

Yes, you can test the template without saving and edit it. Editing the template individually is something that our developers are working on.

Thank you!
