I’m using the ‘Homepage latest articles’ template and having difficulties changing this.
1) I would like to change the background of the header – it remains #000000
2) I would like to place a footer ad but the latest articles does not allow any other widgets/boxes in the Vis composer. How do I get around this? Is it easier for me to replicate the latest articles myself rather than using the template?

2. The latest article sections don’t uses elements from Visual Composer, that section it’s generated according with settings from post loop settings: http://screencast.com/t/bjlWMMDoU1

Thank you for your response.
I am actually trying to change the title header background in the Latest Articles section, which is currently named ‘Latest Articles’. The default colour is set to #000000 and I cannot change this in the theme panel.
How do I make changes to the template itself in the page attributes? That is the only change I would like to make.
Following from this; thank you for the ad placement. I am actually trying to place the ad above the footer as the final element of the page. I want to place an ad box at the bottom of the page but the Latest Articles section won’t allow me to post anything underneath.

For the ad you will need to edit the theme files to place the ad inside the page.
