Footer Widgets doesn't show

Hi, in the theme panel/footer I have activated the “show footer” switch – so far so good – Everything is ok and shown as expected. But when I drag widgets to my Footer (1-3) (in widgets panel) to amend content to the footer nothing is shown in the footer.

This worked Before I made my critical roll-back from 1.7 to 1.6 – I’m not sure if this is the reason or how to make this work again.

Any help much appreciated 🙂

Solved – I found this to be not a bug but a feature. The solution was in http://screencast.com/t/mg4Nm4deKb3
But I would still like to leave my comment that the standard code includes this dynamic_sidebar code because this seems greatly more straight forward than having to change code.
