Full Size or Large Images in Posts

How do I allow the image in a post to display full-size?

ex: http://www.fleetinglife.com/2014/07/16/overome-vatican-museums/

The top image should be the full width of the page, but is somehow automatically down-sizing in the published version of the post.

It is not the featured image, I do not care about the resizing of featured images, I want to know how to change the size of regular images that I use throughout my posts.

Any other theme I’ve used has been really simple to edit the size, but there is something preventing the correct size from showing up to the public.

Thanks,
Christina

The theme (and WordPress) cannot “enlarge” images in the sense of making larger versions of the picture. You may be able to over-ride the width to be 100% with CSS, but Lucien will have to help with that.

If your original image is large enough to fit the width when uploaded, then it’s a different issue.

There is a great plugin I use to auto-enlarge uploaded images to fit the space of the theme, which is “Thumbnail Upscale”

Thanks for your answer! The uploaded image is large enough to fit the theme when uploaded…I’m not sure what the issue is but does that plugin you mentioned help with this? Or is it only able to re-size small images?

Thanks!!

Hi, that plugin is for when you upload a 700px wide image and you want it to fill an 800px and/or 1200px wide space in the layout 🙂

Hi,

Have you resolved your issue? I have checked your site and all images look fine.
Please let me know if you still need help.

Thanks
