WP’s blockquote align in posts has never worked for me, from Newspaper 9 to 10. It’s always centred. How can I make it go left or right? See the red quote here:

But how do you get it to go across the whole column but align left?

I want quotes to go across the full column width, like the 2nd one in the above article, but align left.
Do custom post templates offer more choice of quote style? This is very limited as well as a workaround.

Also the single post templates from tagDiv Cloud Library are working the same, but you can edit theme with tagDiv Composer.

Thanks, Calin – I tried that but then the quote colour and font changes to very small. Maybe there’s an adjustment for that?
This altogether seems a very complicated workaround. I hope a cloud template might offer more streamlined solution – when I get time to work on one.
I’m struggling with this – quote system here seems a complete mess. Quotes are an important style feature and it really should be smoother. Do custom post templates offer more range and less clunky interface? Right now, I can’t remove a left quote in Classic Block deleting a par. It’s become integrated with the par.

Remind me why do “align text left”, “align text center” and “align text right” not work?
I don’t want a quote in only the left or right half of the column but right across. So please don’t tell me to use classic edit – I understand that but it’s not what I want.
Is this a fault in WP or in Newspaper? All we can get is centred.
Also, adjusting the font size in Theme Panel/Theme Font/Pull Quote has no effect on the feature called Pull Quote Left / Center / Right in wp-admin/post. Correct? Why not?
Lastly, in wp-admin/post, Theme Settings/Quote Styles, the selection of anything other than Default overlays the quoted material across the post content, making post content uneditable. Looks ok in the live page, but it’s terrible when it comes to editing…
The quotes function in Newspaper seems to need a complete overhaul – put on your list before issuing another Hello! mag type template? Good quote design is a newspaper basic.

The blockquote is a WordPress function. Newspaper theme only renders the block and can offer 1-2 more options at the moment.
